The revamping of the Kettlesub mobile app took six weeks, during which the team maintained consistent communication.

My role as a product designer on the team covers:

The current user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) were lacking, resulting in difficulty for customers to navigate and utilize the platform effectively, greatly hinderig them from achieving their goals As a product designer, my task was to redesign KettleSub to address these shortcomings and enhance its usability for users. Revamping the product was a crucial turning point, the team conducted a user testing to basically understand how users were able to easily interact with the product screens, the most important goals they want to complete in the shortest possible time and what is irrelevant After the test the team realized the following 1. The overall user experience (UX) was complex from the onboarding down to the accessible features on the product. 2. Also the product’s poor UI needs to be professionally updated to meet industry standards and demand of users.
Splash screens give users a quick overview of a product before onboarding a user . The team realized that previous product lacks a splash screen which makes it impossible to engage users therefore affecting the overall perception of the product by users.
While revamping the home page, the team had to put the current users into consideration so they don’t get estranged by the new design therefore, minimal changes were made to the overall design of the home page and other screens of the app.
Whilst wallet transfer is one of the major features on the app, it should be intuitive for users to use and understand .
To increase user engagement, we gamified our platform through a referral system that rewards users with bonus points for each new referral. These points can be converted into cash for paying bills or transferred to other users' wallets. Additionally, users earn 1% of every transaction made by their referred users, providing continuous incentives to invite more people and actively participate on the platform.

The mobile app's wallet can be funded using a bank transfer or debit card. A virtual account is created for each user, where funds can be sent to top up their respective wallets. The card transfer uses online payment processing platforms like Paystack and Monnify to fund the user's wallet using their debit card.
During the project, minor issues arose from differing perspectives between the technical team and stakeholders, conflicting with user needs. As a product designer, I organized meetings to balance these priorities and ensure the best outcome for everyone. This experience taught me that a product designer must meet the needs of stakeholders, the technical team, and users while designing a product.
